This week, besides the typical family rush & activities, my DD Emma-Sian being out every night & all day Saturday & into the night for Tap & Ballet Rehearsals & Recitals. What do they call Good Stress? Eustress? The Lazarus’ thang? Can’t remember my psych courses from 15 years ago. Whatever Crazy Fun Stress is called. Besides daily prayer, I have been dealing with this overload by having quick escapes in the craft room having a blast with the week long Stampin Out Alzheimer’s Event.
Today is the last day of the SOA event & last I saw they had surpassed their fundraising goal, so add to it & let it soar !!! So if you haven’t signed up there’s still time! Worth it for the freebie downloads & plethora of ideas. This week has been like drinking from a fire hose & here are some of the challenges SOA’s have offered me. Have fun.
I thought for the Cinderella Story, I would use Drew’s dress as the inspiration to make a card.
Here’s my go:
Used: Dazzlin’ diamonds Glitter, Heat & Stick Powder, Versa Mark Ink, Dimensionals, Diamond Stickers, Pearl Stickers, Tim Holtz Grunge Board Flourish, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink, Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Acrylic Stamps, Martha Stewart Doily Edge Punch, White EP, Clear EP, Corner Rounder, Oval Nestabilities used in Cuttlebug Machine, Tim Holtz Distress crackle Paint Picket Fence, Vanilla CS, White Cs, Vellum, Ranger Ink Distressing Tool, Water Colour Paper Bienfang Canvasette 170lb.
I’ve been having a tremendous amount of fun this week (and staying up entirely too late) playing with all of the challenges at the week long Stamping Out Alzheimer’s site (1 week site only) . I was perusing the forums & found that Sankari posted this scrapbooking sketch challenge. I’m normally not a sketch challenge girl, because I have problems staying that focused. I guess my scissors tend to wander to much LOL, but when you use photoshop & have the pattern in layers, you just create a clipping mask & it stays true to the pattern. Sankari provided the template & I just deconstructed it into layers & when from there. So much fun. Here’s the layout.

Well, to be honest, I’ve never tried a Digi Template before. It was so QUICK to put together. I would just drop a PP or element into the layer & create a clipping mask & Bob’s Yur Uncle. Wow Quick. I’m sold on them. There was a freebie template from super talented Tracey Howard from Sweet Shoppe Designs & that’s what I used. Wonder if they have ones for 8 1/2 x 11? I’ll check later
Here’s Tracey’s template. The png files were freebies this week from the Stamp Out Alzheimer’s website. It’s free right now, through the Charitable Website, all funds going to Alzheimer’s foundation.
Here’s my go at Tracey’s template, using Digi Papers & Elements from Libby Weifenbach, available only for this week for free through the charitable site, Stamp Out Alzheimer’s and after that through Libby’s site.

This was a generous freebie cupcake template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff through the Stamp Out Alzheimer’s website. It’s free right now, through the Charitable Website, all funds going to Alzheimer’s foundation. After this week long event is over, Kelleigh will be selling this template at her site: The Digi Chick.
My little helper (the 3 year old in B/Ground shot) & I went to work on our cupcake. I think next time I will try to do it on my own, so that I concentrate a bit more while I cut out the template.
The reason the Twill Tape was on it, is that it was a bit wonky … “K’y HELP?????” “uh, just wait, oh dear”. I think next time I would gather it, so it would fit on the hexagonal shape a bit better.
and the bottom.
What a cute template & it would make a great treat holder. Not sure who I’m sending ours to yet, but it was fun to make.
Used: Close To Cocoa DSP, Vanilla CS, Versa Mark Ink, Red EP (SU retired), Martha Stewart Twill Tape, Riding Hood Red CS, Red Brad, Silk Flowers, So Swirly SU Wheel, Template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff.
Over at Stamp Out Alzheimer’s there is a contest (tag: fftbest) to use Libby’s Kit & I had fun with a free Mini kit from Libby Weifenbach, available only for this week for free through the charitable site, Stamp Out Alzheimer’s and after that through Libby’s site.
I’ve been playing around with these photos for a while, but didn’t know what to do with them, until I saw Libby’s Freebie Flip Flop Tan Kit.
The glitter bar along the bottom is just something I made from a Tutorial on “Glitter Paper” I learned from ShanB at Two Peas in a Bucket.

Fun, fun Colours this week from Kristina Werner’s 53rd Colour Inspiration. This week’s CI photo came from Anthonette Chavez’s cutie guy, Kalino. My Liam & Kalino are both big Iron Man fans, so when I saw the inspiration photo, I had a big smile on my face, who wouldn’t? Boys & robots, honestly.
I showed the card to my oldest she said, “Oh, is that the national bird of France?” ’funny’ okay, it is a big flag like. DH agreed. So I guess it should have read ‘Salut’.
The Pearls are just the tiniest Stickers from Recollections Rhinestone Stickers (Michaels, $3). The Copic Markers, ya learning curve. I did my best to go by this tutorial more or less.
Used: Printer, May 2009 Kristina Werner Virtual Card Club, K & Company Designer Mat 4.75×6.75 Double Sided Que Sera Sera Mat Pad, B06 Peacock Blue Copic Marker, 0 Colourless Blender Copic Marker, Smooth-Heavy Weight Pad 135 lb Water Colour Paper Daler Rowney, Recollections Rhinestone Stickers, Dimensionals, Uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen, Ridinghood Red CS, Pacific Point Blue CS, Summer Sun CS, White CS, SU Corner Rounder (with Clip Removed), Type Font: Courier New (32 PT).
The candied fruit caught my eye & somewhere in the back of my brain I had remembered seeing something that I wanted to try. I hit SplitCoastStampers to jog my brain & find the links that I CASED. I got the ideas from here (from stampinhappy) for the bleaching & clear embossing technique and here(from stampin_n_sc) for the glass idea.
The Cup is adhered with Super Sticky Tape (so you can puff it out a bit) on Vellum that I had coloured (on the wrong side/back side of Vellum) with Wild Wassabi Ink. I also used some White Embossing Powder for the sugar at the top of the drink. The Technique itself, is stamp in bleach, let dry & then clear emboss over top. The photo doesn’t show it well, but it glissens a bit.
And yes, I quite like Margaritas on Hot Summer Days.
Used: Definitely Decorative Fresh Fruits (SU), Vellum CS, Kraft CS, Wild Wasabi CS, Pumpkin Pie CS, So Saffron CS, Cream CS, Fiskars Cutter, Circle Punch, Bleach, G Studio Stamps: It’s a Sweet Thing, Wild Wasabi Ink, Slot Punch, Versa Mark Ink, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals.
The cute thing about this card is, well, you just pull on the ribbon (raffia here) and the treat is dragged out. How sweet!
Tah Dah! Hershey Bar.
Used: Rose Red CS, Chocolate Chip CS, Vanilla CS, Cornucopia PP, Corner Photo Punch, Dimensionals, Ribbon Punches, Tag Punch, Circle Punch, Circle of Friendship Stamp Set, Chocolate Chip Ink, Rose Red Ink, Printer, Sewing Machine & Thread, Raffia, Super Sticky Tape, MM Buttons.
Well, I must admit, I hadn’t a clue & didn’t even hazard a guess with the Cinema Saturday Sneak Peaks. This week’s CS Creative Challenge 32, was Twilight.
My DD (9) had wanted to watch this with a friend & I hadn’t watched it or read the book (yes, I know, I’ve been under a rock for the past year) I told Emma-Sian she’d have to wait so I could check out the movie first. When this challenge came up, I thought well now is a good time as any, so I hit YouTube & watched a poor quality version of it. Wow. Wow. HSM it’s not. Um ya, not really for 9 year olds IMO. Nothing explicit at all, but it is a HOT movie, so suggestive. Anyways. For this HOT HOT movie I made a fan to cool down.
The parameters of the challenge was Red, Black & Sparkly & something to do with the movie. Well it’s red & black & sparkly.
I didn’t follow a template to the letter (printer issues), but this is where I got the idea.
I used a Cuttle Bug Embossing folder, Mod Podge Glossy Glaze, & “some” Dazzlin’ Diamonds Glitter. It folds up easily with a brad at the base.
The punch is the Retired Wrought Iron Punch (with the bottom removed).
Used: Really Red CS, Wrought Iron Punch, Black CS, Cuttle Bug Embossing Folder (Used in Sizzix Machine), Coluzzle Round Cutter, Black Cross Stitch Embroidery Floss, Craft Embellishements, Dazzlin’ Diamonds Glitter, Mod Podge, Rhine Stone Brad, Circle Punch.
