My favourite time of year …
I love, love, love, Autumn. I love earthy colours and the rich reds, & oranges of changing leaves. DH & I were married on Canadian Thanksgiving. Wow, 15 years, this October (I was a baby LOL). Anyways, I just love autumn (did I mention that?) & was quite inspired to make a card for Kristina Werner’s Colour Inspiration #23.
This is the inspiration Kristina gave us from Red Envelope:
I had fun with rediscovering Quilling with the card I made yesterday, so I gave it one more go today.
I couldn’t use the quilling strips I had, because they didn’t match the Colour Inspiration, so I made some of my own Strips of paper. Cutting strips 3 mm x 11 inches … didn’t have 12 inch paper of these colours. I did glue two stripes to gether to make a 20 inch quilling paper in Bravo Burgandy & a cream colour.
Now the problem with trimming up S.U. CS to make paper coils, is it’s thick & doesn’t fit into the quilling gizmo. I suppose I could have just used a skewer, because all I did was wrap it around the tool, rather than slip the paper in & spin it. It was a bit more time consuming, because, well, it’s a slower process, but not bad.
Here’s the card I ended up with:
Used: Raffia, S.U. Circle Punches ( 1 3/4 & I 3/8″), Best Yet Stamp set, Chocolate Chip Textured CS, Bravo Burgandy CS, So Saffron Textured CS, Pumpkin Pie CS, Chocolate Chip CS, Old Olive CS, So Saffron CS, Pumpkin Pie CS, Me & my Big Ideas Value Paper Pack: Cornucopia PP, cream Quilling Strip, Quilling Tool, Crystal Clear Glue, Timber Brown Stazon Ink, Pumpkin Pie Marker, So Saffron Marker, Vintage Distressing Ink.
Looking forward to see everybody’s interpretation of the Autumnal Arrangement on Kristina’s post!
