Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge had a super fun Friday Sneak Peek, actually several snippits from the movie for us to guess. The movie was revealed on Saturday, and CSCC #15 was ….. drrrrrrrr …. Casablanca. AWESOME Valentines movie, IMO. My DH & I went to see Casablanca at a Répertoire Theatre (The Mayfair, for you Ottawa folks) on Valentines day, of course. Really wonderful to see on the big screen & in those old fashion theatres, beautiful. I highly recommend it.
I was totally at a loss of what to make for this challenge. I love the movie & the idea to make something with Black/White/Grey +1 other colour, was a cool idea. Brooke made a gorgeous scrapbook page & Sankari made a beautiful card with these parameters. I tried. It seemed that the cards I made (well messed around with) looked more like sympathy cards …LOL. Not what I was going for.
After thinking about the movie, I remembered that we had bought a movie poster & had it laminated. I guess it was never unpacked after we moved 2 years ago. Oh dear. I brought that out & then I thought about making another wine tag. You can never have to many of those, always good in a pinch when heading to friends or as gifts.
So here’s my go at “Casablanca” … see there’s our sepia poster a memorable scene from the movie where Rick & Ilsa, serenaded by Sam, are drinking the wine before the enemy comes & drinks it.
Here’s a close up of the tag. Nothing fancy & boy are they quick to make. I’ve made them before here and here. I have to laugh, can you tell that French wines are my favourite? I left the inside of the label blank & when I know who is it’s going to, I’ll mark in their names.
Be sure to check out other fun interpretations at Paper Craft Planet or Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. If you haven’t played, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, it’s a BLAST!
