So there was a fun & colourful Paper Craft Planet Colour Inspiration, #11, on Wednesday (every Wednesday) that I had some fun with. Katherine picked a Colour Inspiration from Gymboree, these really cute Hair Accessories:
I saw these colourful ribbons & I wasn’t sure what to make. So I headed off to my ladies group and one of the women had made a rose for each woman in the group with a verse attached to it. So sweet. I had seen these before, when my oldest son was born on Mother’s Day, they gave them out at the hospital. I raided my house to see if I could make it myself. As you can see I didn’t have Floral tape, so I used paint masking tape … trust me, it looks WAY better with floral tape. I had everything else though (the Stem wire was left over from a Martha Craft).
Okay, so what do you do … cut a piece of Cellophane to 4″x4″, stab a hershey kiss with a wire & then tape the other hershey kiss to the top.
Start Taping. Wish I had had floral tape, but oh well.
Wrap, Wrap, Spin, Spin.
I used a Die Cut from Sizzix (Stampin’ Up!) in Kiwi Kiss for the leaf.
Tried to make it look a bit more 3-d by dry embossing the leaf (running an embosser or you could use a bone folder, dry pen whatever).
Make a few more … a douzen would have been nice, I ate some of the chocolates … what they were defective
Then just make a cone out of a square piece of CS and I added some ribbons to hit the pcpcolor11 Colour Challenge.
These were so quick to whip off. It’s so tiny. I think I’ll use it as the ‘card’ for my neice for her 11th birthday.
Thanks, Katherine for the fun Colour Inspiration. Be sure to check out other fun interpretations at PCP tag: pcpcolor11 . You have a week to make something & Post it. Haven’t tried it yet? Go for it, it’s fun to escape in the craft studio!
