Cool Down Fan.

Well, I must admit, I hadn’t a clue & didn’t even hazard a guess with the Cinema Saturday Sneak Peaks.  This week’s CS Creative Challenge 32, was Twilight.

My DD (9) had wanted to watch this with a friend & I hadn’t watched it or read the book (yes, I know, I’ve been under a rock for the past year) I told Emma-Sian she’d have to wait so I could check out the movie first.  When this challenge came up, I thought well now is a good time as any, so I hit YouTube & watched a poor quality version of it.  Wow.  Wow.  HSM it’s not.  Um ya, not really for 9 year olds IMO.  Nothing explicit at all, but it is a HOT movie, so suggestive.  Anyways.  For this HOT HOT movie I made a fan to cool down.

The parameters of the challenge was Red, Black & Sparkly & something to do with the movie.  Well it’s red & black & sparkly.

I didn’t follow a template to the letter (printer issues), but this is where I got the idea.

I used a Cuttle Bug Embossing folder, Mod Podge Glossy Glaze, & “some” Dazzlin’ Diamonds Glitter. It folds up easily with a brad at the base.

The punch is the Retired Wrought Iron Punch (with the bottom removed).

Used:  Really Red CS, Wrought Iron Punch, Black CS, Cuttle Bug Embossing Folder (Used in Sizzix Machine), Coluzzle Round Cutter, Black Cross Stitch Embroidery Floss, Craft Embellishements, Dazzlin’ Diamonds Glitter, Mod Podge, Rhine Stone Brad, Circle Punch.

  • That is awesome! I really like the design of it and the punched out top. It makes me think of something Alice would accesorize her prom dress with (in the book, sadly not in the movie).

  • OMGoodness!!! WOWWOWOOWOWOWOW!!! Even though that fan is supposed to cool us down — it is a pretty HOT fan!!! WOW! LOVE the way you did the colors and love that last pic of the fan opened up catching the shadows!!! You know, I was the same way too – I hadn’t wanted to watch or read it and then I finally succumbed and its just awesome! Love that punch!!! WOW – what a great use of glitter too!! It folds up beautifully and that bottom attachment is just gorgeous!!!
Thank you so much for playing along with us!! Its always awesome to come over and see your creative genius at work!!!! Sending you BIG hugs!!!

  • You know that rock you were under? I’m still there!! This is beautiful work and such a glorious idea no matter what the inspiration. Lovely detail, especially the tassel and charm. Clever lady.

  • This is just fabulous, I am continually amazed how creative you are! I just love everything about it!

  • That looks awesome! Great job with the challenge!

  • Love the fan…it is really perfect for the movie. And yes I would agree the movie is not for children. I watched the movie with my 12 year old, but she didn’t like it. The ending actually scared her. I learned a lesson from that experience:) But I still absolutely love the book and movie. Interesting enough, my daughter now does not want to watch any movies rated higher than PG. That’s a good thing:)

  • N. I. C. E. Great idea, and beautiful!
