Keepsake Box

This was a craft from last week’s Stampin’ Out Alzheimer’s Challenge to create a Keepsake Box.  Such a wonderful idea, I had to give it a go.  I used two tutorials, one Video Tutorial From Kristina Werner and one Tutorial from Lynn at SplitCoaststampers, and put the two together.

Have you tried Tim Holtz’s Grunge board?  Oh my word, it is coool!!! It takes a beating & is easily decorated.  Kinda’ like chipboard, I guess, but doesn’t get worn out or ripped with much use.  You can use your 50% off Michaels’ coupon on it & stock up on his stuff.  The Grunge Board here is the key & lock.  The lock is covered with Ranger Crackle Distress Ink.  The Key is Inked with Tsukineko Platinum Planet Brilliance Fast-Drying Pigment Ink.

The Ribbon is tucked under & attached by a velcro adhesive.  It holds the ribbon quite tight.

On the inside I just put in a coaster, which also help keep the box shut, as it just fits in there.  Plus, I thought it was a cute felt coaster.
