Theatre Tickets Gift

My Timeless Templates had a giveaway during the Stampin’ Out Alzheimer’s Event last week, where they gave away a template for a Recipe Wrap Up, available from Papertrey Ink.  I used the template, except shortened it a bit so it would fit inside my Cuttlebug to use my Nesties for the see-thru window.

I would probably use this for gifts with tickets involved, movies or theatre LOL k I haven’t been to the theatre district since we moved to the burbs & had 3 kids.  Should make an effort, I guess.  Going to the movies is just that much easier for babysitting.

I didn’t want to use PP to cover up the Acetate, so I just adhered them with Mini Glue Dots, so it looked a bit cleaner.

To keep it shut, it ties at the side through the eyelets.

Used:  Kraft CS, Martha Stewart DSP, Silver Eyelets, Crop-a-Dile, Round Nestabilities (used in Cuttlebug), Template from PTI, Uniball White Gel Pen, Acetate, Mini Glue Dots, Ridinghood Red CS, Stampin’ Up! Flower Daisies#2 Die Cut used in Sizzix Big Shots Machine, Checker Fabric Brad (Dollar Store), Offray 1/4″ Microcheck Ribbon, Scallop Punch.

Keepsake Box

This was a craft from last week’s Stampin’ Out Alzheimer’s Challenge to create a Keepsake Box.  Such a wonderful idea, I had to give it a go.  I used two tutorials, one Video Tutorial From Kristina Werner and one Tutorial from Lynn at SplitCoaststampers, and put the two together.

Have you tried Tim Holtz’s Grunge board?  Oh my word, it is coool!!! It takes a beating & is easily decorated.  Kinda’ like chipboard, I guess, but doesn’t get worn out or ripped with much use.  You can use your 50% off Michaels’ coupon on it & stock up on his stuff.  The Grunge Board here is the key & lock.  The lock is covered with Ranger Crackle Distress Ink.  The Key is Inked with Tsukineko Platinum Planet Brilliance Fast-Drying Pigment Ink.

The Ribbon is tucked under & attached by a velcro adhesive.  It holds the ribbon quite tight.

On the inside I just put in a coaster, which also help keep the box shut, as it just fits in there.  Plus, I thought it was a cute felt coaster.

Used:

Always Artichoke DSP, Cereal Boxes, Video Tutorial From Kristina Werner, Tutorial from Lynn at SplitCoaststampers, MM Antique Copper Brads, Crop-a-Dile, Tim Holtz Grunge Board, Tsukineko Platinum Planet Brilliance Fast-Drying Pigment Ink, Dimensionals, Felt Coaster from Michaels Clearance Bin, Martha stewart Twill Tape, Adhesive Chipboard from K & Company, Always Artichoke Ink, Define your Life Stamp Set, Velcro Adhesive, Ribbon from Walmart Offray (I believe), Ranger Crackle Paint.

Crazy Busy, Crazy Fun

This week, besides the typical family rush & activities, my DD Emma-Sian being out every night & all day Saturday & into the night for Tap & Ballet Rehearsals & Recitals.  What do they call Good Stress?  Eustress? The Lazarus’ thang? Can’t remember my psych courses from 15 years ago.  Whatever Crazy Fun Stress is called.  Besides daily prayer, I have been dealing with this overload by having quick escapes in the craft room having a blast with the week long Stampin Out Alzheimer’s Event.

Today is the last day of the SOA event & last I saw they had surpassed their fundraising goal, so add to it & let it soar !!!  So if you haven’t signed up there’s still time!  Worth it for the freebie downloads & plethora of ideas.  This week has been like drinking from a fire hose & here are some of the challenges SOA’s have offered me.  Have fun.

Winged

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #33 & “Any Winged Thing” Challenge on Stamping Out Alzheimer’s week long site!  Two in one, baby!

I thought for the Cinderella Story, I would use Drew’s dress as the inspiration to make a card.

Here’s my go:

Used:  Dazzlin’ diamonds Glitter, Heat & Stick Powder, Versa Mark Ink, Dimensionals, Diamond Stickers, Pearl Stickers, Tim Holtz Grunge Board Flourish, Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink, Tim Holtz Visual Artistry Acrylic Stamps, Martha Stewart Doily Edge Punch, White EP, Clear EP, Corner Rounder, Oval Nestabilities used in Cuttlebug Machine, Tim Holtz Distress crackle Paint Picket Fence, Vanilla CS, White Cs, Vellum, Ranger Ink Distressing Tool, Water Colour Paper Bienfang Canvasette 170lb.

Build it.

I’ve been having a tremendous amount of fun this week (and staying up entirely too late) playing with all of the challenges at the week long Stamping Out Alzheimer’s site (1 week site only) .  I was perusing the forums & found that Sankari posted this scrapbooking sketch challenge.  I’m normally not a sketch challenge girl, because I have problems staying that focused.  I guess my scissors tend to wander to much LOL, but when you use photoshop & have the pattern in layers, you just create a clipping mask & it stays true to the pattern.  Sankari provided the template & I just deconstructed it into layers & when from there.  So much fun.  Here’s the layout.

Wild Blue Yonder

Well, to be honest, I’ve never tried a Digi Template before.  It was so QUICK to put together.  I would just drop a PP or element into the layer & create a clipping mask & Bob’s Yur Uncle.  Wow Quick.  I’m sold on them.  There was a freebie template from super talented Tracey Howard from Sweet Shoppe Designs & that’s what I used.  Wonder if they have ones for 8 1/2 x 11?  I’ll check later :)

Here’s Tracey’s template.  The png files were freebies this week from the Stamp Out Alzheimer’s website.  It’s free right now, through the Charitable Website, all funds going to Alzheimer’s foundation.

Here’s my go at Tracey’s template, using Digi Papers & Elements from Libby Weifenbach, available only for this week for free through the charitable site, Stamp Out Alzheimer’s and after that through Libby’s site.

Liam’s Cupcake

This was a generous freebie cupcake template from  Kelleigh Ratzlaff through the Stamp Out Alzheimer’s website.  It’s free right now, through the Charitable Website, all funds going to Alzheimer’s foundation.  After this week long event is over, Kelleigh will be selling this template at her site:  The Digi Chick.

My little helper (the 3 year old in B/Ground shot) & I went to work on our cupcake.  I think next time I will try to do it on my own, so that I concentrate a bit more while I cut out the template.

The reason the Twill Tape was on it, is that it was a bit wonky … “K’y HELP?????” “uh, just wait, oh dear”.  I think next time I would gather it, so it would fit on the hexagonal shape a bit better.

and the bottom.

What a cute template & it would make a great treat holder.  Not sure who I’m sending ours to yet, but it was fun to make.

Used:  Close To Cocoa DSP, Vanilla CS, Versa Mark Ink, Red EP (SU retired), Martha Stewart Twill Tape, Riding Hood Red CS, Red Brad, Silk Flowers, So Swirly SU Wheel, Template from Kelleigh Ratzlaff.

Fish In Style

Over at Stamp Out Alzheimer’s there is a contest (tag: fftbest) to use Libby’s Kit & I had fun with a free Mini kit from Libby Weifenbach, available only for this week for free through the charitable site, Stamp Out Alzheimer’s and after that through Libby’s site.

I’ve been playing around with these photos for a while, but didn’t know what to do with them, until I saw Libby’s Freebie Flip Flop Tan Kit.

The glitter bar along the bottom is just something I made from a Tutorial on “Glitter Paper” I learned from ShanB at Two Peas in a Bucket.

Used:  Mini kit from Libby Weifenbach, available only for this week for free through the charitable site, Stamp Out Alzheimer’s and after that through Libby’s site.
