Tag, You’re IT!

Paper Craft Planet’s 3D Tuesday Challenge,  3D38 challenge, “Tag You’re It” is from Susanna Boyd.  The VIDEO tutorial Susanna did is AWESOME (with a new fold for a tag holder!) & she’s right it takes no time what so ever. I did spend a bit more time on the tags themselves with the nestabilities {flourish thing} & cuttlebug ornament die cuts, & some copper embossing, but the tag holder itself … MINUTES. LOVE IT.

The book holds 8 ornament tags.

Here they are:

Give this challenge a go (on from Tuesday to Monday 23rd November), you’ll be surprised how quick it is to make.

Used:  Merry Moments DSP (Stampin’ Up), Spellbinders Bordabilities 12″ Illumination Border, Inkadinkado Christmas Season Clear Stamps, Copper EP, Versamark Ink, Recollections Rhinestone Pearl Stickers, Martha Stewart  Ribbon, white string, Provocraft Ornament Die Cut, Chocolate Chip CS, Nestabilities Scalloped Rectangle, Grid PP (unknown scraps).

Fun with Borderabilities.

SplitCoastStampers has a contest on right now in conjunction with Spellbinders.  I don’t need any excuse to make something with my nesties, but this is a good reason for you if you haven’t tried ‘em.  You can create a card, layout, or altered item (tags in SCS upload Gallery as: Spellbinders_cardSpellbinders_layoutSpellbinders_altered) with any Spellbinders products, so I thought I’d use my Nestabilties (Ovals) & Borderabilities (12″ Grand Illumination Border):

I used some Groovy Guava CS (SU retired) that I found in my stash.   I cut out the Illumination Border twice (once for the front, embossed & once for the inside, not embossed).  I then just cut around with scissor on the Card to allow for the border to show through, like a lace & to hid the ugly bits, I just glued the two pieces together.  Easy peasy … here’s the inside.

Used:  Groovy Guava CS, White CS, Ribbon Bundle (SU Sale-a-bration ‘09), Nestabilities Ovals, Borderabilities (12″ Illumination Border), Sweet Little Sentiments Stamp Set, Certainly Celery Ink, Ranger Ink Applicator, Dimensionals, Super Sticky Tape.

Vintage Dancer

This week’s Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, Number 20, (can you believe it?) is The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons.  My neighbour & I went to see it about a month a go.  Um … hmmm.  The movie started off with my attention, but I could have shaved off about 45 minutes in the middle.  Sorry, I know, I’m bad.  But I can definitely see where it’ll do well tomorrow night at the Oscars.

Without giving any of it away, the part when someone is going through their old photo albums, very touching, sat with me.  Also the weird thing with the photos on the wall in that old house that he knew not one of them?  This card is sorta’ meaning to reflect the photos on the wall & the album.

This week, I remembered to include the challenge part of it … VINTAGE, Gotcha!  Thankfully the folks that run & those that participate in these CSCC challenges are tolerant of my forgetful rebellions.

Here’s my card:

You can’t see it all that well, but along the bottom is my purchase this week at Michaels with the 40% off coupon … yes, it’s another punch I have a weakness for punches, but try to control the collection.  It’s was new to Michaels & oh boy were there so many to choose from.  It’s the new slim profile punches (from the winter CHA show).

Used:  Nestabilities Oval & Scalloped Oval, Mat Pack to Pierce around the scallops, Splellbinders Borderabilties Grand 12″ Illumination Border, Cuttlebug,  Antique Copper Making Memories Brads, Global Views 12×12 Paper Tablet (Déjà Views), Ranger Ink:  Walnut Stain, Ranger Applicator, Copper Paper, Really Rust CS, Dimensionals, Vanilla CS, Mellow Moss & Kiwi Kiss Ink, En Pointe Stamp Set (SU Retired), Chocolate Chip CS.

Silver for you.

Tuesday, time for Kristina Werner Colour Inspiration #32. This weeks CI comes from Crate and Barrel. Such Silvery sparkle, love it:

The colours we could use are:

and either Sahara or a metallic.  I went with Silver.

Provocraft has this Cuttlebug Combo embossing die thing called  “For You”.  It’s a little ornament.  I used part of that & part of a circle nestability (trimmed at top & bottom) and a flourish bordabilty called Illumination to make my own ornament.  Not sure how well you can see the items, but here’s the ’shopping list’.  (My camera, is still in the hospital & this was taken with my point & shoot cool pix Nikon).

Here’s my card:

Be sure to check out the other fun interpretations on Kristina’s Blog!
