Silly Mood

I can’t tell you how much fun I had giggling over this week’s Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, #62, Night at the Museum.  Honestly, unless you’ve seen the movie, you just won’t get the card.  Actually, maybe if you’ve seen the movie, you may still not get the card.  Here’s my Miniature Easter Island Head, “Dum-Dum-wants gum gum” Valentines Card.  I know, I know, I can hear the groans from here.

I took a lesson from 7 Hunters on using photoshop & Illustrator to make a “cut out” type picture & that’s how Easter Island Head was made.

Okay, here are a few more Valentine cards that I made, just because.

and this one …

which pivots open …

I cut this using my Cricut Cutter :) on Kraft & Manchester Stampin Up DSP, attached with a brad.

Sketched hello

This is for a Paper Craft Planet Sketch Challenge by Lynn’s sk010910 beautiful sketch  Isn’t her sketch pretty?

Here’s my go with her sketch:

The PP is from Martha Stewart. The cut out is using my cricut machine with the Home Accents cartridge. Uniball White Gel Pen & Pearl Sticker Accents. Stampin’ Up! Stamp Set: In the Spotlight.

It works, finally.

It’s installed!  SCAL, Sure Cuts a Lot!  Oh, I had a hard time with it.  In the long run, (my DH technical advisor), said, it’ll work with our old PC, but not on our MAC.  Even with the firmware installed, it just hangs.

Ever since I saw SCAL demo’d here by Kristina Werner, with her “Merry Christmas” SVG file, I wanted to give it a go.  It’s not identical, but as close as I could get using the Fonts that I own.

I drew it up in Illustrator, using her tutorial on Merged Letters and then imported the SVG file to Sure Cuts a Lot.  My Cricut is the little one.  Anything I make has to be at max 6×12, & not too detailed, but I think I’m going to have fun with this!

Used:  DCWV Christmas Stack PP, Illustrator, Sure Cuts A Lot Software, Cricut Machine, Wendy Type Font, Zapf DingBats Font, Two Peas Old Type Font, Baskerville (astrick) Symbol (ribbon), Buttons & Embroidery Floss. Recollections Decorative Border (pink felt zig zag)

Regal Craft Room

Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, #53, is Elizabeth the Golden Age.  I must admit, I hadn’t a clue what to do with the “Add a Crown” part of the challenge.  I did have fun though.

Here’s one of the images that I used as inspiration:

Here’s my fancy-smancy pencil holder for my craft desk.  LOL Very Regal Crafting area now.  The thread is mod-podged down.  Is that a word?  Kinda’ lacquered.

Used:  Cricket Cutter & Home Accents Cartridge (Welcome Sign trimmed down), Thread, Mod Podge, Martha Stewart Pearl Adhesives, plastic cup.

Road Trip!

Traveler’s Inspiration Challenge {two} & this weeks inspiration photo comes from Anthonette of Chavez Designs.  I love Anthonette’s Creativity-the girl makes amazing card after amazing card.  Here’s her inspiration photo from Taos, New Mexico.

Here’s my card, very simple, but I think I need to get a new White Chalk Ink, this one is a bit dull.  It was fun to make, thanks Tina for hosting this fun challenge & thanks Anthonette for the inspiration!

Used:  Kraft CS, Tempting Turquoise CS, Martha Stewart PP, Uniball White Gel Pen, dimensionals, Mini Mongrams Cartridge (Cricut Machine), Road Trip Inkadinkado Clear Stamps, Alabaster Colorbox Chalk Ink, Corner Rounder.

Happy HSM

Okay so Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge #37 is High School Musical!

The following is a questionnaire to fill out if you are not sure if you have a HSM Fanatic in your home.  NB:  This could also be used interchangeably with the Jonas Bro’s.

Have we seen it:  Yes.

Gone to theatre release:  Yes.

Do we own all the DVD’s:  Yes.

Do we own the Music CD’s:  Yes.

Do we have a 9 going on 10 year old Daughter:  Yes.

Does she own a massive poster of HSM in her room:  Yes.

Is the the second card I made for this challenge, because the first “basketball card” was rejected as ‘not High School Musical Enough?”:  YES.

My oldest, my DD actually wanted me to get all the neighbourhood kids to jump in the air, take a picture & make a scrapbook page.  I might actually have to do that, now that it’s in her brain.

Here’s my our card:

Used:  Yoho Yellow Textured CS, Ridinghood Red CS, Cricut Machine, Mini Monograms Cartridge, Creative Memories Gold Pen, Yellow Highliter, Stapler, Velour Fabric.

Quick Crafting.

Kristina Werner’s Colour Inspiration #52, photo from Traci & her cool Cars she took pics of while in Italy.  How cool is that???

I used my Cricut cutter last week & had a bunch of butterflies left over, so I thought I’d use them for this challenge, with a bit of Clear Embossing Powder.  That’s it, pretty fast.  Had a busy long weekend, with general family life stuff and then we took in the Tulip Festival here in Ottawa (Celebrating Canadians and the harboring of Holland’s exiled royal family during World War I I) .  Anyhoo, a quick card, is sometimes the most fun & that’s what this is.

Used:  So Saffron CS, Baja Blue CS, More Mustard CS, Sahara Sand CS, White CS, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Oval Punch, Fiskars Cutter, Cricut Cutter, Home Accents Cartridge (for Cricut), Clear EP, White EP, Versa Mark Ink, Toile Blossoms (SU Retired)

Some pics from the outin’ today at the festival:

hello friend

I didn’t touch the computer today, until late in the day (Good Friday Service & then some family time & baking this afternoon).  When I did log on, I found Kristina Werner’s Colour Inspiration #49.

I pulled out my not so often used, but well loved Cricut & the Beyond Birthday’s Cartridge & cut out the ‘hello friend’ sentiment.  Then I used a blender pen with Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point, & Rose Red Ink Pads & filled in the missing loops.  Pretty quick!  The 3/4″ gingham ribbon is from Basic Black & the buttons from my stash.

Used:  Cricut, Beyond Birthdays Cartridge, Pacific Point CS, Black CS, White CS, Basic Black Gingham 3/4″ Ribbon, Buttons, Mini Glue Dots, Blender Pen, Kiwi Kiss Ink, Pacific Point Ink, Rose Red Ink.

Birthday Corners

Kristina Werner’s Colour Inspiration #48 was a fun picture from Cori.  Cori, your son is a cutie!  The Colours from his toque were:

Here’s my Card.  I used my Cricut Machine with the Home Accents Cartridge (frame) and then just trimmed it.  The PPaper is Martha Stewart & is really pretty close to Baja, but not exact.

Thanks for the fun, Kristina!

Used:  Spectacular Birthday (SU Retired), Brown Embossing Powder (SU), Versa Mark Ink, Circle Nestabilities, Circle Punch, Making Memories Buttons, Martha Stewart PP, White CS, Kiwi Kiss CS, Corner Rounder, Cricut Cutter, Home Accents Cartridge.

Lemon Lime Thanks

Kristina Werner’s Colour Inspiration this week, number 40, were fun Lemon Lime colours of ribbons, oh yes, & Teal, a tuffy for me to fit in.

Here are the colours:

Here’s my Card.  I used a stamp set that I have had for YEARS & haven’t used in quite a while, called “Quick & Cute”.  I’m pretty sure it was part of a February Freebie (Sale-A-Bration) with Stampin’ Up.  It fits nicely inside of the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch.  I also used my Cricut cutter, (Home Accents Cartridge) set at 3″ for the flower bit, & pruned it down to half as many flowers.  That Punch along the bottom is from Martha Stewart, love it.  It’s called Doily Lace Edge, I believe.

Be sure to check out other fun interpretations at Kristina’s Blog!

Used:  So Saffron CS, More Mustard CS, Old Olive CS, White CS, Taken with Teal Marker, So Saffron Marker (around paper edge), Old Olive Ink, Doily Lace Edge Martha Stewart Punch, Circle Punches 1 3/8″ & 1 3/4″, Ribbon from Fabricland tied with Thread & adhered with super sticky Tape, Dimensionals, Cricut Cutter, Home Accents cartridge.
