EASY Gift Bag
Saw this oh so easy & oh so cute VIDEO tutorial of a BAG-A-LOPE by the adorable Dawn Griffith and had to give it a go.
I swapped out a few things, but essentially the same easy-peasy cute bag.
Because I didn’t have any Stampin’ Up envelopes (I know, crazy) I used an ivory envelop with a regular triangle close at the back. I didn’t like the way this looked so I covered it up with some PP.
Embroidery cross stitch floss (great for matching up colours & inexpensive) was used to tie the bag of goodies & for the label. I also coloured in the centre of an ornament stamp (snowflake) with a marker.
I was messing around with combining different blues together on a card … not overly happy with the mix of blues, but lesson learned. The Snow Flake on the front was cut out with a Cricut Machine with a Home Accents Cartridge. My machine fussed with it a bit, but after the 2nd try, I got a snowflake I was happy with. Maybe I should change the blade.
The other difference was I used Twill Tape Ribbon for the handle. The ribbon was pierced through with a Crop-a-dile & a paper piercer for the bag, to allow the brad to go through. I didn’t like the brad showing on the inside so I covered it with PP cut with Circle cutters & attached with sticky tape. The Glass bead at the front, well it’s not a bead, it’s actually like a snap, really. (bought at dollar store, under “crafts” label) Anyways, it had a tidy closure on the inside so I didn’t cover it.
Here’s the Rhinestone brad at the side, securing the twill Tape. Really sturdy, actually.
So all in all here’s what I used, although you could get away without all the punches, but I’m a punch girl.
Used: Stamps: Le meilleur de tout, Ornament stamp (remarkable?), Punches: 1″ circle, 3/4″ circle, 1 3/4″ circle, curly label punch, Bordering Blue Marker, Versa fine Ink, Embossing Buddy, Detail Black Embossing Powder, Martha Stewart Twill Tape 9/16 ribbon, Lerman Decor 664 Embroidery Floss, Urban Garden PP & Manchester PP (S.U.), Cricket Home Accents Cartridge, Rhinestone Brads, “crafts” Snap Glass Bead, envelope, cellophane bag, with cookies
