Father’s Day Blog HOP
Hey It’s a blog hop! Creations By AR is releasing some new templates & we’re launching them with a Father’s Day Blog Hop.
What do you win at this hop? One of two new templates
Here’s what I made with the COMFY SOFA GIFT BOX template:
This template, can be converted into a sofa/chesterfield/couch or just the chair.
The chair has a compartment that pulls out.
For a gift box. I thought what might be a good gift for the gadgety dad, is a USB stick with a photo slide show of favourite photos for his computer screen saver.
Oh yes, & don’t forget the remote on the chair.
The second template I made was: PAPA’S TRUNK
The SVG, is of course, scalable. So I brought mine down to 50% of actual size.
There’s a little paper lock included in the template.
That is used as a label here.
I made mine from white CS & then put an embossing folder to get the raised metal impression, and then dragged silver ink pads over it.
Here’s the back … I used tiny eyelets to hold the paper hinges.
I had these tiny tools from the dollar store … totally worked for this “Delta Tool Box Truck Box” project.
Wee hammer.
And that’s it!
What you need to know …

Armani doesn’t make a blue tuxedo
I am having some fun with being one of the guest designers on Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, #84, Father of the Bride.
Isn’t this a clever card? A Tuxedo Jacket! HA! Loved it when I first saw it from Angela Sgro. It was published, along with a free template in Scrapbookstrendsmagazine.
I had seen this template a LONG time ago, but one of those cards you tuck in the back of your brain & then when I found out what the movie was this week, I had a flash to this scene:
Franck Eggelhoffer: Uh-oh, I bring the wrong color thread. I assumed you’d be wearing a black “tuxado.”
George: It is a black “tuxado.”
Franck Eggelhoffer: I don’t think so, babe. This tux is “nuffy” blue. No doubt about it.
George: What’re you talking about? Armani doesn’t make a blue tuxedo.
Franck Eggelhoffer: Armani don’t also make “polyaster.”
I thought ‘Father of the Bride’ was such a cute movie. My fellow Cannuk, Martin Short, did a ridiculously funny character of Franck Eggelhoffer, IMO
Just too much fun! Good for Father’s Day or A wedding or Graduation maybe!

Argyle
The Creative Challenge this week, Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge#83, had a bit of a Guy Feel to it & I always have difficulty with Guy/Boy cards, but I gave it a go.
The bag template is a Freebie from Adela & you can find it over at Paper Craft Planet’s 3D Tuesday Group! Look at the bottom, under Attachments & you’ll find the link to the AR-ZBoxBag.zip.
I do love repurposing stamps so I used the sentiment from a valentine stamp & coloured it with marker for the ’sent with love’. The Golf T is a retired SU! stamps set called ‘Have a Ball’, the dsp is from Chatter Box Inc called Billiard Argyle (2 sided paper)
The tools I used to make the golf ball, besides the glossy white paper were …

Tool Bench
This week’s 3D challenge from Paper Craft Planet was from Sankari. Her 3D62 was to create a Name Card Holder.
I just sorta winged it with the design, but I would say the “peg board” is 4″ tall by 3 3/4″ wide, punched with a paper piercer. The table itself, is also 4″x3 3/4″ wide, & it’s scored with a 1″ fold on each, so scored at 1″ & 3″.

I wish I knew how to pass on the svg files, but I can show you the outlines I traced. Anyhow, trace ‘em & convert to an svg or just print em out & cut. Someday I will figure out how to upload an svg for folks to down load, but for now there is laundry, gardening, kids, crafting, laundry …

Guy Tie
Here’s a really cute template for a Father’s Day Tie Box I found from Kimberley Morris (procrastistamper).
Kimberley provided a freebie pdf Tie Box Template here!
I used Stampin’ Up Patterned Paper, that reminded me of my own Dad’s ties. The ‘guy’ in our family is a Jelly Bean fan, so that’s probably what’ll go in this box.
Such a cute idea, thanks, Kimberley!

Hawaiian Fun.
I saw this Fun Father’s Day Gift Packaging Challenge (3d15) at Paper Craft Planet’s 3D Tuesday Challenge & had to give it a go. I used Angela Sgro’s adorable Shirt Template along with the Bag-a-lope Video Tutorial from the oh so clever Dawn Griffith.
I used a Vanilla Envie with “Fashio District”: ‘Me & My Big Ideas’ Mat Pad (Clearance from Michaels) along with some Bashful Blue CS. I cut the Paper in half & then inverted it so that the border was on the inside, to look more like a Hawaiian Shirt.
The Shirt template from Angela Sgro is meant to be a card. It opens up so you can write a sentiment. Honestly, just so clever.
The Bag looked a bit boring, so I added some stitching (that’s why it’s crooked, ’cause I put it on after). The bag is so tiny too, but it’ll fit some of Dad’s favourite Jelly Beans just right!
Used: Vanilla Envie, “Fashio District”: ‘Me & My Big Ideas’ Mat Pack, Bashful Blue CS, MM Buttons, White Gel Pen, Super Sticky Tape, Dimensionals, Fiskars Trimmer, Angela Sgro’s adorable Shirt Template, & Bag-a-lope Video Tutorial.
