Groovy Vase

Just having some fun with a Kristina Werner (Reader’s Choice !) Colour Inspiration, #4.  I LOVED the photo that Laura had submitted, what a photographer.  Gorgeous picture of a jelly fish & a fantastic jumping off for a colour inspiration.

The ‘Vase’ is an idea that I first saw from Kim Burmeister that uses, of all things, a Stampin’ Up Christmas ornament punch–just with the bottom point trimmed off.  Clever!  Had to case.

That’s all, thanks for the fun!

The papers:  My Minds Eye:  Just Dreamy Cards, K & Company Berry Sweet, ColorBox:  Friendly Forest.

Punches:  Stampin’ Up!:  Ornament Punch & 3 flower punch

Eggplant Issues

Kristina Werner had a Colour Inspiration this week, Reader’s Choice 3 CI.  I had a few minutes this morning so I put something together quickly & it was a challenge for me.  Eggplant & me don’t see eye to eye.  Anyways, be sure to try it out & give the challenge a go.

Lots of Colours

Time for a Kristina Werner Colour Inspiration, Reader’s Choice 2.  The photo was supplied from Kristie.

Here’s my go with these 6 colours …

8×8 Deisgner Paper Pad from Cosmo Cricket “Hello Sunshine” & “Get Happy”, DCWV Christmas Pack Paper.

Ooh La La!

There is my go at the Reader’s Choice Colour Inspiration Challenge!  Which one?  Well, Kristina Werner had a fun {2} part Colour Inspiration Challenge.  Part {1} was to submit your own photos & then the votes then led to part {2} of the challenge … the Colour Inspiration!

I’m hoping there’s enough light gray in the mirror copic colouring.

Here was the inspiration photo, taken by Be Creative with Amy.  Good name for a blog :D , btw

Colourful Sewing

Is that inspiring for a Kristina Werner Colour Inspiration?  Dunno, but I like it.  I popped over to Fabricland today (big sale on Fabric until Saturday, btw).  I brought my camera into the florescent, no windowed fabric wonderland & took a few pics before perusing the material.  I call this photo “Gütermann”.  lol

Anyways, that’s my go at a Colour Inspiration.  Kristina’s  “part 1″ photo submission goes until Tuesday, May 11 at 7:00 pm MDT. Give it a go or look through some of your old photos.  Always fun revisiting.

{edited May 8, … trying to reload, Linky didn’t put my big photo into the quilt … for all you out there … apparently, Linky doesn’t like “umlaut” as in the ‘u’ in ‘Gütermann’ or accents, just fyi}

May Scrapping

Another 4 page Blitz of Scrapbooking.   PaperCraftPlanet’s Scrappy Sunday Group, provided these 4 templates from Jen Tapler.  It really gets me motivated to actually get a page done, when the layout is there for you.  Especially when it comes to digital, you just drop in the photos & the elements & the page is done.  Love it!

I’ve used several different papers & kits above.  Here are the designers:  Betsy Tuma, Erica Hernandez, KImemories, Kristina Werner, Rhonna Farrer, Vinnie Pearce, Jennifer Pebbles.  Some of their work I’ve changed up a bit, but that’s where I started.

Okay, & just because I’ve been home for less than an hour from the Puppy Salon, AND have already scrapped it (that has to be my personal record lol), here’s a close up of Sparkle.  The photo IS NOT COLOUR enhanced, she’s actually a white dog, who knew.

I See One Layer

Kristina Werner had a fun & very challenging challenge to create a 1 layer Card.  Not as easy as I thought.

I did have some fun with it, though & came up with this …

I used American Typewriter & Clarendon Blk BT fonts.

Thanks for the fun!

5+1 Colours

Kristina Werner had a Colour Inspiration Challenge this week, #57, and it was a big challenge for me.  Lots & lots of colours from her fabric choices.  My Nan (would have been her 93rd birthday today) used to make me quilts.  I love quilts, heavier that blankets & made with love.  Here are the colours from Kristina’s soon-to-be-quilt:

Here’s my go with all of the colours.  Thanks for all the fun & memories in the craft room!

Christmas Eve Question

Hiya Kristina,

Just before we went to the Christmas Eve Service & were all dolled up we thought we’d ask this question to you:

Since you always have so many surprises & new ideas for your blog, what do you have planned to do with your crafting for 2010?

PS Amy is the crafter in the family, but in our home a crafting Mum is a Happy Mum.

Sorry for the low quality recording … it’s the ole’ cam corder :)

Holiday Blessings from Amy, Mike, Emma, Malcolm, & Liam.

It works, finally.

It’s installed!  SCAL, Sure Cuts a Lot!  Oh, I had a hard time with it.  In the long run, (my DH technical advisor), said, it’ll work with our old PC, but not on our MAC.  Even with the firmware installed, it just hangs.

Ever since I saw SCAL demo’d here by Kristina Werner, with her “Merry Christmas” SVG file, I wanted to give it a go.  It’s not identical, but as close as I could get using the Fonts that I own.

I drew it up in Illustrator, using her tutorial on Merged Letters and then imported the SVG file to Sure Cuts a Lot.  My Cricut is the little one.  Anything I make has to be at max 6×12, & not too detailed, but I think I’m going to have fun with this!

Used:  DCWV Christmas Stack PP, Illustrator, Sure Cuts A Lot Software, Cricut Machine, Wendy Type Font, Zapf DingBats Font, Two Peas Old Type Font, Baskerville (astrick) Symbol (ribbon), Buttons & Embroidery Floss. Recollections Decorative Border (pink felt zig zag)
