Popcorn & Paper
Hope everyone is having a great summer. We’ve been going non stop around here since June, either having company over for visits or out on holiday. Spinning, we’ve been absolutely spinning, but in a good way. We’ve also enjoyed a bunch of movies this summer … well except for magic Mike & my friend already apologized for bringing me to that one. The kids have had a few movie nights with friends at the house & have a few more coming up before the summer ends. I thought a quick & fun for this week’s 3D Challenge at Paper Craft Planet, 3d177, might be this cute little Popcorn Box from One Charming Party.
They (Bettijo B. Hirschi and Aimée Lowry) have provided a free template and detailed instructions for this fun project. Just print & cut. No fancy die cutting machines or intricate cuts here.
Here’s my go with it …
Have some fun with this one & remember, it doesn’t have to be filled with popcorn … this template would be great to welcome overnight guests with shampoos & toothpastes or birthday gift card & candy or whatever. It’s just a cute template.
Have fun!

Golden Years
Time for Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. This week’s challenge, #61, is A Knight’s Tale. …
So I remember going to this movie when it came out. Emma wasn’t 2 yet & Malcolm was a newborn. We rarely went out to the movies or out at all, because I was nursing & we never had any spare money for sitters and the activity out.
Long story short: I picked this movie, probably because of Heath Ledger. My DH loathed it. It was his running joke in our home for the next several months that I was not permitted to chose the movie when we went out. I liked the soundtrack. DH liked the soundtrack, but not with the movie. Make sense? As an example, at the two minute mark in this clip is the reason DH couldn’t suspend his belief & enjoy the movie …
Okay so with our little odd family history, here’s my take on the movie.
A coupon … LOL … that’s what I love about this challenge. You can take anything from it: music, colours, themes, emotions, or in our case, memories. :D

Incase you’re wondering, on the flip side, DH has picked movies that I didn’t like. That’s the good thing about your spouse or friends for that matter , they are always giving you second/third/etc chances. (most recently: funny people. Why wouldn’t that movie just end?)
Cute faux leather technique, eh?

I used a technique from Beate at SplitCoastStampers to make the faux leather wallet. She even has a cool video Tutorial.
You could put in cash, a gift certificate or a homemade gift certificate (always fun to come up with ideas!)
