Winners will be announced SATURDAY!  So what are the new templates?

The first one is called Craft Hutch.

My MIL had brought these wee little bottles back from Scotland last year.  When I saw Adela’s template, which looks identical to my Dining Room Hutch, I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for.

I slipped some cotton into the test tube to hold the little bottle in place.  Fits just right.

The second template I have made to show you is the “ES in the Bag”:

There are two templates in this one, a scalloped edge & a hexagonal.  Both are lovely, but my fav is the hexagonal.

A sweet little purse.

Have fun with the hop and thanks again to Adela of Creations By AR for hosting it!

Amy –> that’s me! And here’s what I made to show you …

The fun thing about this shadow box, is you can put anything in it to personalize it:

The second template is a cute surprise purse.  Now the beauty of Adela’s templates is they are not only adorable, but sizeable.  The unmodified size, fits a gift card, but if you size it down to 50% you get a barbie purse … WAH!

This would be fun to give the the little Valentine girl in your home!

How do you enter into this giveaway? Just leave a comment for your chance to win.
Winners will be announced Thursday! Be sure to visit all the Design Team’s blog & leave a message of love. Each blog will give away BOTH new templates.
Special thanks to Adela of Creations By AR for these adorable templates!

June Release Blog Hop

To celebrate the new releases from Creations by AR, we’re celebrating with a Blog Hop!

Here’s one of the new releases, called Elegant Sole.

I used white paper, but embossed it in red for a patent leather look.  If you emboss it a few times, it really gives it a high gloss patent look.

Shoes with out a matching purse?  No way.  So here’s the new gift card holder with purse-onality!

With Digital cutters, you can size the pattern to whatever you want.  I love to size things down.  Inside of the purse, I put a little sentiment instead of the gift card.

Hope you have fun with these templates too!

How do you enter?  Just leave a comment on my blog or for more chances leave a little love for the other DT members:

“Purse”-sonality!

This week’s 3D Challenge from Paper Craft Planet, 3d75, “Purse”-onality, is so darn cute!  Adela provided us with a freebie template pattern to make it too!

I used some Martha Stewart paper, Embellishments: Creations by AR, Stamp: SU! Cercle D’Amitié, Ink: Certainly Celery, MM Brads.  It was so quick to throw together.

Be sure to check out the 3d75 Album for more fun interpretations.

Origami Purse Video

Well, here’s my first “go” at a video tutorial.  I was playing around with this idea from last year’s Origami Mommy blog entry and loved how it turned out.  Here is my take on her purse-basket.  I am thankful to say that I didn’t knock over the video camera that I had perched over top of me, despite being distracted by my youngest & also our 10 month old 50 pound puppy, Sparkle.  Hope you have fun with this “long video” & it inspires you to give it a go!

I need shoes to match …

Are you ready to see the most realistic Paper Purse Template EVAH?!!  Adela is the template queen.  I was floored when I saw it & couldn’t wait to try it.  Here’s Adela (AR Creations) Haute Tote.  {I adore the name of the template too}:

The Brown paper is the cool sorta Faux Suede called ‘Velvet Papers’ I bought at Heathers Stamping Haven here in Ottawa. The other is from The Paper Company called Decorative Paper Gold Foil Leaf On Ivory.  Because I made such a small tote, I only used less than 6×6 of the decorative paper.

There’s a pocket on the inside–SQUEAL! So darned adorable.

I used my Cricut Machine, with the svg file, she included.  However, the fanciest piece of equipment you need  is a pair of Scissors, because there is a PDF that you can print out, paste of some fancy paper & cut out.  It’s a surprisingly simple template, so it really wouldn’t take long to cut out.

For those of you who do have Sure Cuts A Lot Software that facilitates the computer talking to the Cricut Machine, it is a bit faster.  I have the small cricut machine, the 6″x12″, not the 12″x12″, so I sized the template down by 1/2.  Nothing fancy, this is how you do it.  In the Sure Cuts a Lot Software, after you have imported the SVG & it’s bigger than you want OR you want to cut out a few at a time, you go under the Object Menu, to transform & then to Scale. Under the Drop Down Menu, choose Percentage, keep proportions & go to 50% or whatever.  Each time you import each of the pieces of the purse, be sure to scale them the same.

I am so making more of these.  Thanks, Adela, you rule!

Accordion Photo-Gift Purse

Paper Craft Planet 3-D Challenge, 3d9 is to make an Accordion Folder.  Cool! What a great idea for giving pictures.  Thanks, Adela!  Adela has these wonderful instructions on her blog, which is what I used to make my folder.

The only 2 things I did differently was to use a velcro sticker for a closure & secondly I made a mistake in aligning the middle divider … ooops.  It bugs me, what can I say, but I used Terrifically Tacky Super Tape & it’s totally permanent.

The Ribbon is from Martha Stewart & is a perfect match for one of my fav colours, Sage Shadow.  Not Blue, Not Grey, Not Green.  Love it.

The ribbon is just tucked in between the CS pieces with Super Tape.  It’s not going anywhere.

And well, that’s it.  Here’s the photo-gift purse/Accordion Folder:

Used:  Sage Shadow CS, Martha Stewart Herringbone 9/16″ Cloud Twill Tape, EK Success Edge Punch, K & Company Dimensional Butterfly Stickers, K & Company Double Sided Paper (4.75×6.75″) Sera Sera, Velcro Sticker, Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (used in Sizzix Machine), Coluzzle Book Template (for Edge of Purse).

Audrey Needs a Clutch Purse

The Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, #26, this week, was ‘My Fair Lady’.  I don’t think I’ve ever seen the whole movie, just a bunch of memorable clips.

As for my submission to this challenge, um, I’m not sure what I think about how it turned out or if it’s really all that linked to the movie.  With that in mind, when I watched the clip of Audrey in the ball room, I thought, where’s her purse?  Audrey, where’s your purse!?  You need a clutch purse with that gown.  So here’s my Clutch purse for Audrey.

Here’s how I made the purse.  No template, just a “W”-folded piece of CS, cut with an oval Nestie:

Cut a few more ovals & used some metal frames for the handles:

The metal embellishments were cut with the cuttlebug Die (2×2 Vintage) from a coke tin aluminium & I stuck it on with Glossy Accents Glue.  The top is just velcro’d together.

The inside is on of my favourite gifts … a gift card from Starbucks.  Don’t get me wrong, I love my Timmies coffee, but oooooo those Vente Mocha Lattes … ah man, it makes a great gift!

The back, needed another oval Nestie cut to hid the bottom part of the metal frame:

Used:  White CS, Black CS, glossy CS, Coke Tin Aluminium, Cuttlebug Die (2×2 Vintage), Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Nestabilities, Glossy Accents Glue, Metal Frames, Velcro Adhesives, Word Window Punch, Sticky Tape, .

Low grade, fever, do nothing day.

Well, my Liam has a low grade fever, since last night.  Thankfully, as I write this he is doing a bit better and was chipper by supper time, but it was a bit of a bust of a day.  Pretty much just sat on the chesterfield with him.  He sorta’ whimpers if you stray far.  No house chores, no excursions with the 3 kids for swimming.  Pretty low key.

At one point, Liam dozed off on the chesterfield for 45 minutes.  Put some laundry on & did a quick escaping craft (for sanity sake).

I did quite a bit of surfing today and came across this, tiny Purse by GEETA SUGGS on Crafty Engineer, which I came across while on Card of the Week.

So for my quick break, I worked on the tiny purse.  I only changed it up a bit, smaller, so it would fit the new S.U. Punch Curly Punch.  Oh yes, & I added a velcro “snap” so it would open & close easier.

PP:  Urban Garden, Night of Navy CS, Diamond Sticker, Ribbon from the scrapbookingplace.com, Curly Punch.
