Stars & Stripes Blog Hop!

Creations By AR is hosting a blog hop with beautiful templates up for grabs.
How do you enter in to win a template?  Visit the Design Team blogs listed below, leave a comment at each one, and you’ll automatically be entered in the drawing.
On Saturday, June 23, revisit each blog to see who the designers have chosen as their random winner.
Right-e-o …. now onto the fun.  I made my “Stars & Stripes” Bordered Box Set.  Now being a canuck, I didn’t find any American Patriotic Paper, so I stamped some white lines onto red patterned paper.  For the ruffle at the top, I used blue plastic table cloth that I sewed into a ruffle and adhered to the inside of the box border.  I also cut out a star on the front of the box.  To get the same shape of star as the top border, just resize the template to a bigger size & cut out the star.

Then I filled it with some red & white candy sticks, held together by a belly band.

Lots of fun.  Now be sure to check out what the other Creations by AR Design Team Members came up with & drop them a note to be entered into the hop.

Embellish with Stripes

So, I’m hoping I make the deadline for this fun colour challenge.  It’s from Embellish magazine.  (Thanks Tina, for giving a heads up to this challenge!)  If not, I did have fun with the challenge & that’s the point, no?  I really loved the valise chesterfield inspiration.  Thought is would look fabulous in my front room.  But I have a feeling DH wouldn’t really go for it & the dog might eat it.  So for now, I’ll turn it into a card:

I got the idea for the Chesterfield/Sofa Chair from mlcdesign, although I like theirs better … maybe because of the tiny glasses they used.
