Chairful Day

I must say, one of my favourite weekly challenges is Paper Craft Planet’s 3D Tuesday Challenge.

I have a thing for little boxes.  Little favour boxes, little gifts to hold handmade goodies or just to dress up a little something.

This chair favour box is this week’s 3D67 challenge from Paper Craft Planet.  Adela, of Creations by AR, provided the template for free this week.  Couldn’t you see this dressed up a bit for a wedding or as a shower favour box?

Armani doesn’t make a blue tuxedo

I am having some fun with being one of the guest designers on Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge, #84, Father of the Bride.

Isn’t this a clever card?  A Tuxedo Jacket!  HA!  Loved it when I first saw it from Angela Sgro.  It was published, along with a free template in Scrapbookstrendsmagazine.

I had seen this template a LONG time ago, but one of those cards you tuck in the back of your brain & then when I found out what the movie was this week, I had a flash to this scene:

Franck Eggelhoffer: Uh-oh, I bring the wrong color thread. I assumed you’d be wearing a black “tuxado.”
George: It is a black “tuxado.”
Franck Eggelhoffer: I don’t think so, babe. This tux is “nuffy” blue. No doubt about it.
George: What’re you talking about? Armani doesn’t make a blue tuxedo.
Franck Eggelhoffer: Armani don’t also make “polyaster.”

I thought ‘Father of the Bride’ was such a cute movie.  My fellow Cannuk, Martin Short, did a ridiculously funny character of Franck Eggelhoffer, IMO

Just too much fun!  Good for Father’s Day or A wedding or Graduation maybe!

Pull Up a Chair

How’s your Trigger Tuesday?  Isn’t this a lovely inspiration from Victoria Magazine.  Alica found this for the Moxie Fab Trigger Tuesday Challenge.  So the challenge was to come up with something Lovely on the Green.

I’m actually not sure if this counts for the challenge, because it’s not a card, it’s a favour box, but it’s what I’ve made.  :D

Here’s what I drew & made into an svg.  It’s not the best template, I thinks it’s off a little, but then again so was I when I drew it lol.  Nothing you can’t fudge.

Used:  Stampin’ Up! DSP, Stampin’ Up Flower Punch, Olive Ribbon, Make it Count Stamp Set, Bashful Blue Ink (stamped off), Certainly Celery Marker.

Apparently some folks couldn’t see the above images, so I’m trying to resave them much smaller & see if that’s any better, here they are:

and here:

Hope that’s better :)

Celebrate with CAKE!

Well, I’m not kidding you when I say it’s been a crazy week, with some craziness on the schedule for the foreseeable future. DH is travelling a bunch. I’m not complaining, in these nutty times, he has a job that provides for our family, but I miss my second engine in the evening. Sick kids on & off, but not too sick, thank goodness.

Oh yes, oh yes, happy news for me & a bit of a shocker still–I am part of the Design Team over at Paper Craft Planet.  I adore that sight, the crafters are AWESOME & all really sweet & as I’m getting to know them more, they are a HOOT!  Love IT!

I thought I would celebrate my fun PCPlanet news with one of my favourite Challenges out there!  Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge.  This week’s challenge, #58, is the Audrey Hepburn/Gregory Peck classic princess movie, Roman Holiday.

I found the template for the Cake Box from Ruthannzaroff.  I used 2 pieces of 12×12 Patterned Paper from Robin’s Nest Scrapbooking (Cream Paisley, I believe).  I was able to cut 8 cake pieces using that template.

Glossy Stock White Paper was run through the Cuttlebug with Scalloped Nestabilties.

The Filigree Stamp set is from Anna Griffin & the circular stamp is from SU! (retired) Papa’s Pocket.

Each piece would be a fun little party favour.  Kinda’ looks “showery/weddingy/princess-tea-party-ish”.  DH thought it kinda looked like a hunk of fancy cheese.  <insert head shake/eye roll here>  Anyways, think of the fun you could have, change the embossing powder or make it a chocolate cake, or a layered cake by printing off the template in various sizes!!   Honestly, it really is not fidgety to make.  If you like me you can try to pick at it for 10 minutes when ever you have a chance.

Okay, enough fun, onto reality of dishes, puppies, kids, oh I forgot Liam’s good pants have to be hemmed for tomorrow … hmmm maybe two sided tape would do until I had a chance to sew them properly …
